April 2014

It’s news letter time again. Where does the time go? Anyway I will try and bring all up to date. It is now March 27th and it has been raining. That is real news and it is supposed to give us more in the coming week. That means more snow in the high country.
The biggest event this month was the Crab Feed. I understand it went very well for the Auxiliaries. The Post also did well in the Canteen. Coming up in the month of April is our regular Wednesday dinners. We will have elections at our April meeting to find out who will lead us in the coming year. The District meeting will be at the Winton Post at 10:00 am the 26th of April. That will be the last one of the year, also elections for District 13 will held at this time. I won’t know when the installation of new officers will be until after the auxiliaries have had their elections. That will be out as soon as possible.
I can’t think of anything else at this time except come on rain.
If anyone is ill we wish you well and if anyone has lost a loved one you are in our prayers are with you.

Yours in Comradeship
And wishing everyone well,
Bill Bass

Dear sisters brothers and comrades

As I write this I realize how dependent we are becoming on technology I have made a trip all the way to Modesto just to get the ability back to do this. I love my phone but really did like the days when we were not so dependent. Our weather is looking like spring and hopefully lots of showers will come. We had our crab feed and after the books were done we came out good but it was mostly due to the very hard work of a few. GREAT MEN AND WOMEN. I can't name you all but you did an awesome job ! Thank you Deanna and Wendy for all your effort on the raffle , the number of prizes were outstanding and it took weeks for you to accomplish it! GREAT JOB. Our spring yard sale is coming along watch next letter for that info. For donations call Nita at 878-3231. Please mark your calendar for May 3, we will be having patriots day at the park followed by a light lunch and desert in the park. More to come In next letter. I look foreword to seeing you at our next meeting. Second Tuesday of every month we start at 6:30 . Bunco is third Tuesday of every month at 10:30 a. This month we will be serving a Pork Roast Dinner for our turn in the kitchen. well that's all for now. To those who are ill please get well soon to those who have lost a loved one our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take care and we will see you soon. REMEMBER IF YOU HAVE AN OPINION OR IDEA THAT YOU WANT TO VOICE. Come to a meeting that is the place to open a dialog and get things going.

Respectfully submitted

Judy Hein

P.S. Some of us will be attending the Fashion show this coming Saturday, April 5th . If you want to go at the last minute it's O.K. as tickets can be purchased at the door.

April 2014

I want to thank everyone who helped with the Crab Feed. I turned out to be the most successful to date. A lot of our success can be attributed to the hard work of our Raffle Prize gatherers. Thanks to the super efforts of Deana G. and Wendy M. of the Ladies Auxiliary and Tyler S. from the Men's Auxiliary we raised almost as much from our raffle as we did from the sale of the Crab dinners. The raffle had over 230 prizes. We learned a lot from putting on this years feed and are looking forward to next year.
Don't forget to attend our meeting April 10th. It's time for election of new officers. We have two turns at dinner this month. on the 2nd we'll be making Chicken Fried Steak and on the 23rd our guest chef, Mark Butler, will be serving up a fine Roast Beef Dinner.

Loyally Yours,
Dave Harer, Men's VFW Aux. Pres.
